Player Equipment Players are required to wear shin gaurds, under the socks, at all games and practices. Please bring water to all practices and games. ________________________________________________ Directions to the fields: Directions to Haven Lutheran Church: From Pennsylvania Avenue near Rest Haven Cemetery turn on to Haven Road. The Church is one block on the left. Map Directions to the Fairgrounds: Traveling east on Washington Street (Dual Highway/Route 40 west): Turn left at Cleveland Avenue, proceed straight through 2 stoplights, Cleveland goes straight into Fairgrounds park. Traveling west on Franklin Avenue (Dual Highway/Route 40 east): Turn right at Cleveland Avenue, proceed straight through 2 stoplights, Cleveland goes straight into Fairgrounds park. Traveling west on Route 64 (Jefferson Blvd): Turn right at Cleveland Avenue, go straight into the park. Directions to the Ice Rink field (U8 practices): Follow the directions above to the Fairgrounds. Immediately before entering Fairgrounds Park, turn right onto Security Blvd. Take the first left. Park behind the ice rink or up above at the Fairgrounds and walk down by the gazebo. Map Directions to Western Heights Middle School Traveling west on Franklin Ave: Turn right on route 11 (Burhans Blvd). Turn left at Salem Avenue. Stay on Salem Avenue until you reach Indiana Ave; turn right onto Indiana. Indiana ends at Western Heights. Map Traveling east on Salem Avenue: Turn left at Indiana. Indiana ends at Western Heights. Directions to Potomac Heights Elementary School: Traveling north on Eastern Blvd: Turn left onto Chartridge Rd (the YMCA is on your left). Turn right onto E. Magnolia. Potomac Heights is down the hill on the left. Traveling east on Northern Blvd: Turn right onto Chartridge Rd (the YMCA is on your left). Turn right onto E. Magnolia. Potomac Heights is down the hill on the left. Map Directions to Boonsboro School Complex From Hagerstown: Dual Highway (Rt 40) East 4 miles to Mapleville Rd (Rt 66). Go 3.8 miles and take left on Campus Avenue. Take first left at the tennis courts. Soccer fields on right. Map Morgans Grove (Shepherdstown) From Dual Highway in Hagerstown, merge onto I-70 W via the ramp to Hancock/I-81 Take exit 29 for MD-65 S toward Sharpsburg. Turn left at MD-65 S/Sharpsburg Pike Continue to follow MD-65 South. Turn right at E Main Street (MD-34). Continue to follow MD-34 (Shepherdstown Pike) and follow into West Virginia. MD-34 becomes WV-480 S Turn right at W German St/W Virginia 45 W Continue to follow W Virginia 45 W Turn left at County Route 12(Old Martinsburd Rd) Destination will be on the left Directions to the Charlestown Fields From I70 (Hagerstown) take Route 66 South toward Boonsboro. At Boonsboro turn left on to Route 40A (N Main Street). Follow for about 1 mile and turn right onto Route 67. Follow route 67 to Route 340 Take Route 340 west toward Charlestown. Across the street from Charlestown Raceway, turn left onto Jefferson Avenue. The fields are one block on the right next to the Edge Hill Cemetery. ________________________________________________ Weather Policy: For game cancellations due to weather, check the home page on this website. HAYSL has the following inclement weather rules: U5, U6, and U8 do not play if it is raining at game time. U10 and up can play, unless field conditions have deteriorated to the point that playing on the fields will endanger the players or damage the fields. If you have not heard from your coach and it is time to leave for the game, proceed to the game. If there is thunder and/or lightning, vacate the fields immediately. Pets are prohibited on the athletic fields due to AYSO and Washington County Board of Education Policy. At the fairgrounds pets are only allowed on the perimeter sidewalk. Pets are not allowed on the interior side walks. Please leave all pets at home.
